I have seen those, and now I know what to call them! Congratulations on your marriage! I'm not sure I know the secret to making it last. Although, I do believe making the right choice for a partner in the beginning has a lot to do with it! My husband and I are basically easy going people, we have interests and friends outside of our partnership, we laugh a lot, eat dinner together whenever possible, and travel. Of course, we also had a common interest in education, which helped! Keep talking, make time for each other, and little surprises now and then are fun, too! The hot & bothered physical attraction will eventually fade (but it's still nice to hold hands), it's the friendship that you need to nurture! You asked about my favorite swaps. A few that stick out are the themed fortune tellers, black out poetry, the little books you make out of one piece of paper, two truths and a lie - (you guess which one is the lie), ransom notes, haiku, and decorate a paper lunch sack. Outsider art is what some people call Primitive, which can be a man whitting wood creatures, a woman in an institution who draws intricate drawings...in my town there is a man who is mentally ill & lives on the street but he makes money by selling his drawings of maps that he makes using crayola markers...that kind of thing!
