Description:

This is a swap for members who are just beginning to learn certain skills. Specific tutorials are provided so that everyone is making basically the same simple item. I don't want new sewers to become discouraged when they send something very basic and then receive something very different and/or, shall we say, "much more advanced" in return. So for these beginner swaps I would ask that everyone follow the tutorials provided. All NFS members are welcome to join, but please keep in mind that this may be your partner's first effort - so please be kind when rating and providing feedback. Thx. (";)

Make your partner this cute little Wee Wonderful Bunny using this tutorial.

Please use 100% cotton (can be quilt cotton, flannelette, corduroy, etc.).

Since this would be a bulky item to mail, we are NOT going to stuff the bunny. Please finish it right up to the stuffing step. When you receive your own bunny, you can then stuff and finish closing the bottom.

You may embellish if you wish (such as a bow for its neck, or adding a belly button) but this is not a swap requirement.

Please check your partner's profile re their colour preferences.

Don't forget to include a note with the name of this swap and your Swap-bot moniker in the package.

Open to all NFS members in good standing anywhere in the world.

NOTE: I need at least 5 participants (not including myself) for the swap to go forward.

This is timed to arrive for Easter, which is April 8 this year. Have fun!

If you have any questions, please pm me as I don't check my swaps every day. Thx. (";)

/squeak! That is sooooooooo cute Terry! Can't wait for this one to roll around!

This is sooo cute! Just a reminder that the eyes should be embroidered if the bunny happens to be going to a home with a baby in it. I can see a baby wanting to put that cutie right into their mouths. ;-)

The bunny sent to me will arrive in a home with a baby. I'd be grateful if the eyes could be embroidered, as suggested by ManitoulinGirl.

While I understand your concerns, this is a beginner's swap and we will be using the tutorial exactly as written, with buttons for the eyes.

You do have a couple of options:

1) You can contact your partner and ask if she would mind either embroidering the eyes OR appliqueing them with circles of fabric or felt. If you both agree, then the eyes may be embroidered or appliqued - but no one should feel obligated to do this if they do not wish to (I will not be embroidering or appliqueing the eyes).

2) If your partner does not want to embroider/applique the eyes, you can always remove the buttons and replace them with embroidery when you receive your bunny.

I would not like to see anyone being unfairly rated down for not wanting to embroider/applique the eyes as it is not a swap requirement. Thx.
