Description:

Two things I love: boxes and scavenger hunts. Hence, this swap: The Boxed Up Scavenger Hunt.

The objective: Pick 10 things from the list below. Pack them together in some kind of box. This is entirely up to the sender, both in terms of what you pick and how you box it up. Just to be clear, the box is part of the swap, so it then goes into another cardboard box for shipping.

Theses can be small things! This swap does not have to require a big box. Small doesn't mean junk, but we know good crap isn't junk.

You may choose any 10 items from the list, but they must be 10 different items. You should label each item to tell your partner what it is (e.g., "Something shiny"). If it's not entirely clear why something fits the description, you might explain it as well. These do not have to be new items -- destashing is absolutely encouraged -- but of course they should be nice quality and/or gently used if not new.

Please have fun with this and leave it loose. Let your partner decide how to interpret the definitions. And enjoy your new crap!

THE LIST:

  • Something sparkly / shiny / blingy
  • Something rubbery
  • Something hard
  • Something soft
  • Something you can tie in knots
  • Something spooky or creepy
  • Something that is an unusual color
  • Something written
  • Something from a toy or game
  • A tool of some kind
  • An ATC you made
  • Something metal
  • Something paper
  • A container of some kind
  • Something that you have no idea what it is for
  • Something that makes noise
  • Something older than you are
  • Something altered
  • Something that can be altered
  • Something postal
  • Something silly
  • Something you bought at least 6 months ago and still haven't used

Now that is a good long list, so it shouldn't be too hard to find these things if you poke around a little! And I've given lots of lead time, so you can get started now. It's sender's choice, although it's always nice to check a partner's profile for likes and dislikes.

How you send it is up to you, but since this could be a largish package, I'm going to discriminate and make this US only. (Sorry, international crapsisters!)

So, to recap: 10 different items, gathered in some kind of a box, sent to 1 partner, with a note or label, US only.

Have fun! Let me know if you have any questions below or via PM.

oh for crying out loud - everytime I see the "something older than you are" I keep having a harder and harder time finding something that fits. fricking archeological digs to find some type of ancient papyrus and quill. Great list Deluxx - I am gonna have to join

This will be so much fun. I better start searching and packing mine up now while I am in a destash mood, lest I try to hoard all my stuff back when my crap tide changes.

"Please have fun with this and leave it loose" -- do you mean like Honey Badger's skin? Allowing it to twist around freely?

Deluxx 10/24/2011 #

That's EXACTLY what I mean. Loose like the skin around the Honey Badger's neck and shoulders.

Glad you like my list, @CraftyDeeney And I'm older than you are, so I have to look for cave paintings.
