Giving Credit I found a simular penpal swap for New England by AshleyShea. If you are interested and you live in New England go here http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/10085 or write Sheri herself here http://www.swap-bot.com/member/?id=2041 I'm giving her total credit for the fabulous idea and allowing me to copy, paste and edit her swap! Thanks Sheri Now here's the deal about the So. Cal. swap. I love penpals, but I also would like a few "real" pals in my life. I am limiting this swap to people who live in these Southern California areas. Riverside County, San Bernadeno County, San Diego County. Newbies are welcome. I am hoping that members of this swap will not only become penpals, but may have the opportunity to meet each other every once in a while and become in-person pals. You will send a letter to your partner. It can be hand-written or computer typed. One requirement, please use decorative stationary. In your letter, include information about yourself, such as your hobbies, what you do in your spare time, do you have children, things that you'd like a friend to know. If you'd like, also include questions of things you'd like to know about your partner. Hopefully, your partner will respond with a letter...and the back and forth of mail will begin. ;-) But please remember to be completely honest. This is one of those swaps where I wish I could match people up myself. I would match those who live closest to each other, or those who have the most in common. What I would like to do (you can tell me you don't want to be a part of this in your comments below) is to make a list of your user names and your cities to share with everyone after the swap is closed. If you don't get matched up with someone who lives closer to you, or if there's someone you share more in common with, you can e-mail or snail mail that person in addition to the person you are matched up with. Who knows...you may find that someone in the next town loves to swap as much as you do! Maybe you'll find someone you can drive to meet for coffee or crafting once a month. Or maybe you'll find the best penpal you've ever had. P.S. if you have a photo of yourself or a web page with a photo that you want to share with your penpal please be sure to include that in your letter. I remember penpaling when I was little and ya know I still have those photo's and letters. |
