Haiku is a very short form of Japanese poetry. They are a lot of fun to write. Traditional haiku consist of 17 syllables; three phrases of 5, 7 and 5 respectively. In Japanese, haiku are traditionally printed in a single vertical line while haiku in English often appear in three lines to parallel the three phrases of Japanese haiku. In this swap, you will create a handmade card in a tea theme, with a tea themed haiku that you have created yourself, added somewhere on the card - either incorporated into the design on the front, or included inside the card. Please use 3 lines. Below is one I created as a sample. Relaxation time Steeping new tea from a friend First sip, bliss – oh yes If you need more inspiration, do an online search for “tea haiku” and I’m sure you’ll find some great ones. Please write a note to your partner inside the card, and please also include 1 tea bag in a flavor you think your partner will enjoy. |
