SWAPPERS BEWARE...there is concern out there that many of the swappers are being USED! Good Luck receiving anything. The idea of "give and you shall receive" is not working for Swap-Bot. I've tried two swaps...(sent my swaps) and it is long past the deadline, I've received nothing!!!

kind of sad, isn't it? I have been shafted on my last 3 swaps. I was even shafted by the swap organizer. On the other hand, I've received some wonderful stuff! Especially from international swappers. Maybe its still worth a go.

I do not know how to make the dish clothes but would love to have some as the ones I currently have are all tattered and have definately seen better days! Would anyone care to trade some handmade cards for a dish cloth or two?

I think you can click on my name to get in touch with me :0)

Is it okay if we don't use fancy yarn? Would plain yarn be okay?

Spangle 10/16/2006 #

I would think plain yarn would be best - you want something reasonably hard-wearing that's going to stand up well to lots of hot soapy water, and being thrown in the wash often. Most hand-worked dishcloths I've seen are just done in cotton. Cheers, Miriam

How big are these dishcloths? I've been meaning to try making them for ages and this is just what I need to get going.

I've also been shafted by swappers but have also had some amazking packages. Socks the rock sock yarn on saturday for instance.... how lucky am I?!

I downloaded a dishcloth knit pattern from the web and used cotton yarn. Had fun but had to tear it out 3 times in order to get the pattern right.

what is the normal size of a dish cloth as I have never knitted one?

Hi folks - I am aware of 2 people who I think shouldn't be allowed in swaps but I'm not going to list their names here. If you are a coordinator of a swap you can email me and we can talk about it.

Teresa Gum, whoever you are! Thanks for the beautiful crocheted washcloth! What was the name of the yarn you used? Been looking for variegated cotton. Thanks again! Tod

Wickett6029 11/21/2006 #

I'm glad you liked it, Tod-- I loved the colors also! :-) I don't remember the name of the color, but it is Knit CroSheen (spelled wrong, I know, but you get the idea, lol) and I got it at my local Hobby Lobby--they had colors that I'd never seen before, so I grabbed a bunch!!

Wickett6029 11/22/2006 #

Just wanted to correct myself since I posted the previous note at work....when I got home, I saw that the name brand of the yarn was "Peaches and Cream" (cotton yarn) instead of Knit CroSheen. Just wanted to let you know so you don't go searching for the wrong thing!
