Description:

Taking the time to create a bit of Mail Art and that extra special time and effort put into incoming mail always makes me smile. I'm set to work at home, but want to get together a nice little travel kit. So, I thought I would create a swap so we could all make travel kits to receive and put to use.

You will have one partner to send a kit to. You will find a nice container for the kit and it should hold everything neatly inside it with a bit of room for your partner to add things as time goes on. It can be a box or a large zipper pouch or anything else you come up with that is easy to travel with by sliding inside another bag or carrying via handle.

Inside, you will include at least 5 items that you consider essential to creating mail art. Please look over your partner's profile and include things that they will enjoy. Here's a list for some ideas, but feel free to include other things as well.

  • A colored pen for decoration, fountain pen, ect.
  • Double-sided tape
  • Short snub-nosed scissors for children
  • A small glue stick, glue tape
  • A mini-stapler and staples
  • Deco tape, tissue tape, washbi tape, ect.
  • Blank labels, plain or fancy
  • A booklet of stamps
  • A few blank postcards
  • A small address book
  • A crayon for making rubbings and rubbing plates
  • Some mail art awaiting reply
  • Rubber/Clear Decorative Stamps
  • An office date stamp
  • Small ink pad
  • Seal and sealing wax

Finally, create a nice piece of mail art for your partner to enjoy. Inside include a brief letter with your name, the name of the swap and any interesting suggestions for mail art/why you included the items you did/your favorite mail art techniques, ect.

Because this is a bit of an intense package to get together I am requiring participants to have at least 10 type 3 swaps completed, rating of 4.8 and no recent 1 or 3 rating.
