I reserve the right to ban anyone, for any reason, as I want to insure the enjoyment of the participants. While this swap is not exclusive to pagans, it is a PAGAN-FRIENDLY/PAGAN-THEMED SWAP. If after reading your profile I feel that you will proselytize your partner, then you may be asked not to join.

The Crafty Craft Swap

The purpose of this swap is for pagans (or pagan-friendly folk) to take a craft technique/item and give it a Craft (as in witchcraft or pagan) theme or purpose.

Living in a rural community, I often find myself altering "regular" patterns to make my ritual wear and tools. I'm sure I'm not the only one. So I thought I'd start this Crafty Craft swap.

You will have one partner that you will make something sweet and witchy for.

This could be a crocheted tarot or crystals bag, an embroidered or beaded pentacle altar cloth, a set of hand-drawn tarot cards, a hand-carved athame (edit: you cannot send blades/athames/knives with a blade longer than 2 inches through the mail---certain countries will not allow any sort of blade through the mail--and it must be declared a "weapon" in customs. Keep this in mind), hand-painted rune set, etc.

BE CREATIVE AND CRAFTY!!!

I'm not putting a dollar amount on it, but am trusting that you will all respect one another and give out that quality which you expect to receive.

blessed be, Gypsy

EDIT: If you are in need of a certain item, i.e. a new tarot bag, you can put it in the comments below, BUT it is the swapper's choice ultimately and we should all be blessed by the exchange regardless, right? =^_^=

Good swap. Wherever did you find that image of the sampler above. I love it!

cobaltgypsy 01/22/2008 #

Actually, I made the above sampler! I took many different patterns and altered them to make the sampler. As a cross-stitcher and a sampler lover, I wanted one that reflected me. I looked in Dorothy Morrison's book "Magickal Needlework" and she didn't have one! So I said, the heck with it, I'll just make up my own! The only problem is, I didn't chart it as I made it and Dorothy wanted a chart of it to include in her next crafting book! ARRRRGGGH!

What a neat idea...I would love to receive anything with NON-WICCAN theme - I am a pagan, and tend towards goddesses, the angelic realm/kabbalah, goddesses of any belief system, and celtic deities. I really am in need of an altar cloth though!

cobaltgypsy 02/27/2008 #

Since I teach Beginning Tarot at our local junior college, I can ALWAYS use tarot-related items: bags, books, boxes, decks (even if I get doubles of these, I use them in class for students to borrow until they can purchase their own), journal pages, etc.

dwheeler 03/21/2008 #

I would love an alter cloth! Maybe a cute witchy bag to store alter items in??? But really, anything will be wonderful! Handmade makes it even more special.

Please no Goddess items, I more worship the nature. I'm an odd mix of different things..lol. I would love beaded items or something I can hang on my wall.

weeatcrayons 04/17/2008 #

Oh and Wiccan themed items are peachy keen to send as well as Celtic (My dad's side of the family is Irish, I'm half)..so anything relating to that.

CADLady 04/30/2008 #

I'm thrilled to see this swap. Now, where did I leave my scissors? ::scruffling around in my swap-stuff boxes::

cobaltgypsy 04/30/2008 #

Merry Meet Everyone! I'm so glad to see so many have signed up! I know that some are putting things they'd like to receive in the comments which is fine, but please remember it is the swapper's choice ultimately and we should all be blessed by the exchange regardless, right? =^_^= bb mma, Gypsy

TroubledFaery 05/16/2008 #

I would be happy to get whatever you choose to make. Just put some good energy into it.

Veterok 05/21/2008 #

Oh, this will be exciting! I'm a nature pagan with animistic beliefs, I don't worship any particualr gods/goddesses (..but I kind of like Artemis, uh!) and I'm not really Wiccan. This being said, I'm still very open to all kinds of crafts! :)

eedwards 06/ 3/2008 #

I'm open to anything!

orcasong 06/ 5/2008 #

I really like Norse-themed things and nature-themed things since I'm Heathen (Norse Reconstructionist Pagan). I have info in my profile if you want ideas. The most important thing to me is that you enjoy making it, whatever it is! :) And if it turns out to not be my thing, I'm sure one of my friends would love it.

LavenderLizard 06/ 9/2008 #

I'm pretty open in my beliefs--I love goddesses (generic and specific), nature themes, runes. I also am also working on chronic health problems, so healing energy is welcome! I don't like to tie folks' hands much, though, so feel free to make me anything you feel inspired to make. Part of the fun for me is being surprised!

cerwinrhiannon 06/12/2008 #

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to drop. I'm having some sudden serious financial issues.

bobilani 06/12/2008 #

I don't have many tools or supplies, so anything will be very much appreciated :)

nolagirl 06/12/2008 #

I really love goddess dolls, but I'll be happy to receive anything.

oreon 06/13/2008 #

Anything is cool w/ me too....Goddess Dolls...tarot bags...shrines....

Well-made, creative items are always loved!

Gyelle 06/13/2008 #

I'm with Oreon on this. Anything made with intention is great. I am very into the seasons and the wheel of the year. I have lots of tools and don't actually use them, tho if that's what you want to make I will appreciate it and the time and energy you put into it. The only thing I really don't care for is cutesy. Thanks in advance for the effort you are putting into something for me. This will strengthen the web that connects us all.

manxkity 06/13/2008 #

I am open to anything hand made - surprise me!

melissa 06/15/2008 #

I'm happy to receive anything! I'm really into tarot and wheel of the year, seasons. I consider myself a hedge witch (or a kitchen witch/green witch).

Banshee 06/16/2008 #

I´d love something related to Egyptian Goddess Bast/Bastet. Take a look at my profile for some other tips, please!

inkwell 06/16/2008 #

I love tarot cards, anything tarot.. Shrines, owl feather..(my totem), bell, I had an eyeball ring get gone, I had from New Orleans forever. Something with an eyeball.. But anything received would be appreciated!
