Per suggestions for swaps by some of you, I’m posting a Notebook/Journaling PenPal Swap. This is basically a co-op Notebook/Journal. You’ll have one Journal “Pen-pal†so to speak. I have one of these already, the picture above is our notebook we’ve been passing back and forth since June of 2010, almost 2 years now. You can make a really great friend, even if you don’t have a lot in common. So that being said, here are the dreadful rules (simple but must have). 1) Number one rule, you have to be willing to reply to your sender. My friend and I swap this journal/notebook with each other as we want. There is never a time limit of when we send ours back. I’d hope after you receive your journal/notebook for the first time that you’d at least reply back within a couple of weeks, just to get the book moving back and forth. After that, between the two of you, you can figure out time frames. Like I said, with my current one, there is no time limit, it is really nice to get to my mailbox and find this book in there when it arrives simply out of the blue. 2) Measurements: My book above measures 9 -1/2 x 6-1/2 I don’t think it should be any smaller, nor much larger. Remember postage for mailing out of country will get costly if it’s a larger mailer. Try to stay within this measurement range, or there won’t be a lot of room for writing or creative anything. The cover should be altered somehow. Nothing fancy, heavy or bulky, remember this is going to be passed back and forth hopefully for years. My current notebook has pockets in the back, my pal and I swap goodies back and forth between the both of us, we share supplies, stickers, notes, and pictures. This is not a requirement, but to get to know someone it’s really nice to get an extra something once in a while. 3) The book can be either spiral or book binded, the type of notebook/journal will be senders choice, just remember that it needs to be sturdy enough to withstand travel. 4) The first page of your Notebook/Journal should definitely be an introduction of yourself. Be creative if you’d like. Simple as that! This is a pretty involved project and nobody likes a Flaker! Sign ups will run til the end of January and the notebook will be mailed by mid-February, this should give you plenty of time to find the right notebook/journal, alter it, and write your first entry to your pal. |
