Description:

This is a swap series. This is the first swap in the series. I will host one of these every month in 2012. This is the January swap. It will be a little quicker than the rest of the swaps of the year, since we're halfway through the month as it is... Sorry for the late start! :)

For this swap, you will take a size A5 page and create an "artsy" page. You can do whatever you want as long as it goes with the theme, using any media you want. Do not use only stickers though! You can use stickers, but must also incorporate other media. Do a collage, paint, paste in things from your day... Whatever. It's up to the sender. You should leave 1" on the left side of the page plain so they can bind the pages together if they would like.

You will have one partner. I'm also hosting an international version, so you can go there and sign up as well so you can get two pages per month this way! If you join both swaps every month, you can put all these pages together at the end of the year and have 24 pages in it. :)

For January, the theme is WINTER. Interpret this in whatever way you want.

When you mail this, be sure to include a note telling your partner what swap it is for and what your ID is. Also let them know if it is the USA version or the International version.

Please realize that each person's view of what is "art" is different and you may not like what you receive, but please don't rate down for this since it is sender's choice. Please only rate using the official Swap-Bot guidelines. Thank you.

Do we add a 1" border on the left side for binding or just make a 5x7 that we glue into another journal??? bearnbabs

I would leave a 1" border so that your partner can bind it if they want to... So, your total page size is A5 (please see above, the paper size has changed to A5 from "5x7") but your artwork should stop 1-inch from the left side to allow your partner to bind if they would like to.

Hope that makes sense! I'll put it in the requirements so that everyone will receive a page with a border so they can bind the pages if they'd like.

oh, I will drop out of this one and hope to join the next one, I will be moving in FEB. and had already cut my paper (packed the rest)....sounds like a neat ongoing swap...

@Jjean - I'll host make up swaps as we go along (every 3 or 4 months), so you will be able to get the full set! :-) Sorry about having to change the paper size, but this way everyone is on the same page as I had a lot of people who were contacting me asking if 5x7 was the same size as A5, so changing it to A5 was just easier.

A5 is 210 x 148 mm or 8.3 x 5.8 in. It's half of a piece of computer printer paper.

Beginners are welcome! :-) I'm actually a beginner myself.
