Description:

Mail-Art is one of my all time favorite way to express myself. I hope others of you will join up. This will be for all levels of crafters whether you have made many Mail-Arts in the past OR have been too scared to join before now. Please rate a 5 if swap meets requirements. (Any hearts given should be at the sole discretion of the receiver).

For those of you wondering Mail-Art is art work on the OUTSIDE of the envelope. You can use glue, embellishments, ribbons, crayons, pencils, paint whatever your heart desires (stickers are fine as long as they are used in conjuntion with other mediums).

The theme for this swap will be senders choice. (I think sender's choice is easiest since I want everyone to feel comfortable enough to join). If everyone likes it enough we can have another and do profile specific.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Requirements:
  • 1 envie (no mini or notecard sizes) - 1 partner
  • Decorate back and front of envie (sender's choice)
  • There MUST be a clear space for the mailperson to read the address.
  • No sloppy work (glue globs, sticker slappery, etc are a no-no)
  • Include a small paper-related surprise in the envie (couple of handmade envies, letter set, small notecards - again SENDER'S Choice).
  • Make sure everything is adhered to card extra secured.
  • Have Fun and no stressing.
Note - Mail-Art always cost a little more in postage and if possible get your Mail-Art hand canceled. (that is not a requirement, just a suggestion).
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Short and Sweet - I reserve the right to ban ANYONE from this swap that I feel is questionable. If you are flaked on; I will angel after you have rated the flaker a 1. (But there isn't going to be a need for all that nonsense right?)

Great swap choice - our first mail art swap and for all levels of expertise. (";)

I am really hoping that a bunch of people will join this. Also here is a little tip...I always package my Mail-Art in a clear plastic wrapping (Usually a cut ziploc bag wrapped very securely) after I finish and have the addresses on. This will protect your Mail-Art from any stamping or markings that the PO will put on them. I have NEVER had a problem doing it this way, but I know a few swappers have told me their PO won't allow it. I use a really busy, large post office and have never had a problem though.

can you specify the size? what does : no notecard size mean, do you want dinA5 or bigger?

Fatherted 03/ 5/2012 #

(because my notecards i use are normal envelope size -.- )

I just mean no mini notecards or anything less than a regular letter size envie. I typically make mine large, beause I love decorating them, but as long as they aren't tiny you will be fine. Remember that there needs to be room to include a little tuck-in. : )

Does the tuck-in have to be handmade? Or just paper based in some way?

Paige1900 03/ 9/2012 #

Does not have to be handmade...just paperbased in some way. : ) Of course it can be, but not required.

Sorry I had to drop this swap - the send by date is in the week I have to pack up my Florida place and go home. I am glad you have a good number of participants!
