Dotee Red and Purple Fun This swap is for a Dotee done in Red and Purple. Some will think of the Red Hat Society and all those ladies who wear purple dresses and red hats based on a poem that begins – “When I am an old woman… the poem is every popular and should be found easily by putting those words into the search engine. However your dotee does not have to be wearing a purple dress or a red hat. She does not have to be made out of Red Hat fabric or be embellished with Red Hat charms, although she certainly can be. What she must do is be done in the colors red and purple. Yes, that’s it. Make her some combination of red and purple. Make her happy, wild and adventurous, just like the ladies of the hat society whose only plan is to get together and have fun! You will be making 1 doll for each of 2 partners. I am making this international. The dolls are small and lightweight. They fit into small bubble envies and ship overseas with relative ease to the pocketbook. If you don’t know much about Dotee Dolls I’ve included some links that should help. To see some photos of finished Dotees check out these flickr photos To the blog of the woman who started the Dotee Craze Go Here For a tutorial from Dot herself Click Here It is not necessary to wait for the swap to close in order to work on your dolls since there is no specific expectation to match your partners profile. Choose some materials that appeal to you (and are keeping with the theme) and go with it! Please feel free to change the shape or style of your doll according to your own expression, but make sure it has an attached face, tail and loop hanger. Let’s keep the size somewhat uniform and do them in the 3-6 inch range without the hanger and tail. Now for the rest of it – Although I’m very new to hosting I have been swapping here for more than a year. I’m familiar with the way things work. What I’ve discovered is that determining a swappers risk isn’t a simple number. I’ll be checking ratings, swap history and swap comments when deciding which swappers will be allowed to participate. If you aren’t a well established swap-bot swapper you’ll need a filled out profile AND you’ll need to provide me with links to other pertinent information that would help determine that you are a reliable swapper. i.e. other swap sites where you have participated, photo streams that show a history of your work, recommendations from swap-bot members in good standing. If you have questions or concerns please message or email. Happy swapping!!! Betsy AKA Hag53 I am not encouraging not sending in the least, and should that happen the non sender will not be allowed in my swaps until they make good and satisfy me that it won't likely happen again, however I do want to know if you do not receive your dolls. Not only will I angel but I've had offers from other Dotee fans to angel should there be a problem. |
