Description:

You will make one Damn it Doll to send to your Partner. Read profiles to get ideas of their favorite colors. You can make a small bag to match their doll. The Doll can not be decorated with any hard items, only floss, embroiderary or machine sewn for decorating the face or use of a sharpie. These dolls will be used for frustations of hitting, kicking, slaming or whatever floats their boat, or gets the job done. If the (url) that I post doesn't work for the site to the pattern, please PM me. A poem goes with the doll so please send the one poem that you think they could use. I would need all of these poems, way too many frustrations. LOL. You will have a month to complete this swap.

USA and International Welcome.

Ratings of 4.5 and above.

No-no sends in the last month.

1 completed swap.

Please be honest, because I don't really want to ban people. Here are two sites to work with.

Damnitdoll

DollBag

Can be made of felt or fleece. Please make the Doll strong, it has a lot of work to do for everyone. "Flakers Beware the dolls are comming OUT!"

Can I please request mine be mad of rubber?!?!?! Oh, yes, and string to strangle it with when I have to be really quiet while I am mad?

in fifth grade one of my teachers had a damn it doll (it was red) and she would toss it at your head if you were talking or wack you really good if you fell asleep.

dreamerkins 02/ 8/2008 #

ok, where can i find more poems? i need it right away for a co-worker! (not for the swap, of course).

i really wish i knew who my partner was now! waiting till april might cause me to explode. i am a sagittarius and waiting is not something i am good at. my poor amadeus is itching to sew up a damn it doll. (amadeus is my sewing machine, by the way!)

biasbabe 02/12/2008 #

I never thought about naming my sewing machine, but giving it a mans name would be awesome, Just, give it a whack with the damn it doll and when it breaks down give a shout work damn it work.

can we use a patterned cotton fabric? I made one using a fleece fabric and found it stretched out of shape when belted on the desk! and it was a bit plain with a one colour fabric.

You can make the doll how ever you want! Thanks Ozrob for another pattern. Looks like a strong one to me also. Just make it stong. LOL I am going to use flannel because it is soft and yet still strong. Flannel ususally holds up for kids PJ's and look what they put the PJ's through. LOl The only thing I ask is try to get the colors that your partner likes. Have fun everyone.

i waited and waited for this swap and now it looks like i am going to miss it. what with sick babies and work picking up i don't want to give someone less than the best and i am scared about time! amadeus is going to be so sad, we have not sewn anything in a month! :(

biasbabe 04/ 6/2008 #

To help everyone out I added that you can use embroidery thread, or you can use the machine to sew a face on. Hope this helps.

ozrob 04/14/2008 #

omg! I'm about to give up on this! well' not really. but the last 2 I've tried to make have turned out terrible. One last try and if it doesn't turn out, I will have to send the first one I made.

biasbabe 04/18/2008 #

I had that trouble in the beginging, and I am going to try not to put as much stuffing in it. Is that your problem also ozrob?

ozrob 04/19/2008 #

my problem was it looked fine after sewing but after turning right side out it was crooked and lumpy. I just finished one that I sewed on the outside, thus not having to turn right side out. It looks much better!

biasbabe 04/20/2008 #

I made a pattern up for the doll that was a little more simple to do. I think it will be easier to stuff instead of the other pattern. I have it on my flickr page, Anyone that wants the pattern please let me know.

biasbabe 04/20/2008 #

I will agree with you on sewing just the outside of the doll instead looks nicer and I am going to sewing far enough in and use the pinking sheers around it after I sew it. I think it will give me a total different look.
