This swap is designed to help feed your partners hand-crafted jewellery addiction and let you get to know a group member a little better by reading through their profile. You will create 1 PROFILE BASED and somewhat elaborate piece of jewellery for 1 partner. IF MAKING EARRINGS, PLEASE SEND 2 PAIRS OF EARRINGS unless they are VERY elaborate as earrings are generally quicker to make than a necklace, bracelet, ring or brooch. Once partners are assigned please read through your partners entire profile and create a piece of jewellery especially for them. Make something that you think they will love. Put thought, time and effort into your creation. Remember, your partner is a mobile gallery showcasing your art. Look for the kind of style, colours, metals and item of jewellery that they really enjoy wearing. Take note of your partners likes, dislikes, allergies, ring sizes and necklace or bracelet lengths etc. For example, if your partner loves vintage style, the colour green, prefers antique brass and likes to wear necklaces go with that. If she loves black, has a thing for gothic Victorian jewellery, hates gold and enjoys wearing brooches make her a black Victorian style brooch in anything but gold. Likes simple, contemporary designs, loves getting earrings, favourite colour is red, only wears silver? Make her those. If (after reading your partners profile) you are not quite sure of their style preference or what they would like please contact them to check. No one minds explaining the kind of things they love to help their partner out. Make something special. For example, if making a necklace DO NOT just hang a pendant on a ball chain or thong. DO NOT use wooden or plastic kiddie-craft type beads. This is not that kind of swap. Any questions please feel free to ask. |
