Well, it is that time of year again! As teachers we alway look for new and exciting things to involve our students in. Here is the swap. You will get your HIGH SCHOOL ART Class to make 30 artist trading cards. Any medium is acceptable as long as the rules for ATC's are followed. (I always have my students make matching envelopes for each card that is sent. This way, it will be a surprise to each student who receives one. And when picking them, the last person to get one has the same chances for a great card as the first person.) Each card will be in its own envelope. (There are templates for ATC envelopes on line and I will provide a link to put onto this page). I have 180 art students because I live in a two high school town. If you only have 10 High School student in your art program then they would each need to make 3 cards totaling 30 for your school and would receive 3 cards in the bunch that are sent to you. The send out date will be the Friday before Thanksgiving break. This will give you at the very least, 2.5 months to get the cards and envelopes ready. This is a very important swap as there are children involved. Please be sure that only the first name of the student and the name of your school are on the back of each card that is sent. I am really looking forward to this exchange and hope that many of you will find it a helpful incentive for a filler project for your class. I would like to add this year that one year; we received some very well made cards. The problem was that the subject of each card was the initial of the maker of the card in 3D. They looked great! Only, when I passed them out, I had cards with initials of students who did not share the same initial. Please be mindful that even though the ATC is a personal example of your student’s personality and creativity, the recipient would also like to relate to the ATC as well. Here are the links for the envelope templates I make about five cardstock templates for my students to trace on to drawing paper and then they design them. |
