Description:

As you can see from the picture, this swap will be for a smallish type box that has been altered or decorated in a way that would make Tim proud! It can be simple and elegantly grunged or it can be over the top "how did they get all of stuff on this box cool!"

Techniques and media are up to you! This is open theme for maximum creativity and so we can all make use of what we already have. I am also going to allow about a month to create and make that way we all have enough time but we should all have them out before the holidays.

I would say no smaller than 2 inches diameter or square and no bigger than 4 inches in diameter or squared. Of course it can be any dimensions within these measurements and of course rectangles are fine too, just a smallish type box so postage doesn't get too out of hand.

Ok guys, so go get a plain old paper or wood box from a craft store, or alter one you think needs a make over and send your partner something awesome!

I don't know why I can't get a good upload of this pic on the swap but click here if you would like to see a better photo of the box pictured above. Thank you!

I would love to join Sher, especially as I would die to own your altered box, but I think it might be quite expensive as an international swap. Because of the dimensions of this kind of swap, it can cost upwards of $10. :(

Oh I am so sorry! Could I make the box dimensions smaller? Do you have any suggestions? The box can be like say 2 inches squared but not very tall it can be more of a flat style box too, and you could alter it any way you like you don't have to use tall or big 3D embellishments on top.

Also: If you guys want to put little goodies or treasures in your boxes you are more then welcome to, but not a requirement, but knowing this group, you guys have probably thought about doing that already!

Also, the box can be made of light materials, the box in the picture was one of those plain unfinished paper boxes I bought at Hobby Lobby for $2. And it is fairly light but very sturdy. Just a thought!

Don't be sorry Sher. It's more my end than yours. The Swiss postal service have recently changed the dimensions to their international envelopes and so anything over 3cm in depth now costs over $20 to post! I have to use longer envies LOL but it does mean bulky items are out for me. :(

ooh got started already!

I am so excited for this swap and Zoe I am so sorry! That is just outrageous. I will try to host something creative yet flat soon! :-)

@jukejan yay! so much fun!!! I can't wait to see what you create!

Hey Zoe!! I am in Canada and I'd also love to do this box swap but have the same pricey postal issues, maybe we can do an "inspiration swap" and each design a box with what we send each other, just a thought!! Let me know!! Wish I lived in the US so postage would be reasonable!! Have fun everyone with this awesome swap!!

Sorry to all the international ladies that are having issues with this swap. An inspiration kit sounds lovely!

That's a great idea Darc, but I'll have to take a rain check for now as I've really got to knuckle down and get my brother's wedding stationary done. These group swaps are just so tempting though! ;)
