I'm a freshmen Majoring in Modern Chinese (Mandarin) with a Minor in Japanese. While I'm enjoying most classes, specially the ones that involve learning about China and Japan's culture and traditions, this is my first time approaching such different languages. After spending the last month struggling to keep up with my teachers and classmates, I had a wonderful idea! Searching the Web for tricks and tips on how to learn those 2 languages faster and more effectively can be troublesome: a lot of information comes up and we don't really know where to begin or what to buy exactly. So here's what this Swap is all about: having a penpal who is also studying the same language or at least used to, who probably has gone trough the same worries as you are right now and, more important, somebody you can swap ideas, tips and material suggestions with. Teachers of those 2 languages are also encouraged to join in although I believe those would be harder to find around here. What to Send - First we will start with a real letter. Can be handwritten (preferably) or computer typed, senders choice. Then both partners can choose wether or not they would prefer to keep up their "penpaling" through email;
What to Say - This first letter will be an Introduction. Doesn't need to be too long - tell your partner your name or nickname, when and where you started to learn Japanese (maybe you're an online student learning all by yourself and that would be interesting), why you're studying that language and for how long you've been studying it. Perhaps you could also add where you're having more trouble with the language so that your partner can try and help you out because that's exactly what this Swap is all about;
More About the Swap - This is an International Swap, be aware of that before joining; - All language levels accepted even though partners will be randomly assigned; - There's also a version of the Swap for Chinese students; - You're expected to keep in touch with your partner regularly!; - I'll do more of this Swaps for those who wish to have more than one partner; - Newbies are welcome; - I'll Angel if needed; - Feel free to advertise the Swap. English is not my native language so please forgive me if for some reason all the above was hard for you to understand. Also, this is the first swap I host which means be patient if something goes wrong because I'll try my hardest to fix it in no time! |
