Description: | |
For this swap, we will use multiple layers to make unique backgrounds that can be made into ATCs, postcards. journal covers or pages, etc. All skill levels are encouraged to try this! (";) Step 1: Procure either a large cereal box (seperated into 2 pieces - front and back) or 2 pieces of similar weight cardboard about 8" x 10" (20 cm x 25 cm) or as close to that size as you can find. Step 2: Use your favorite glue to apply a layer of ripped or cut papers to both of your pieces of cardboard. Use a brayer or the palm of your hand to make sure the paper is stuck really well. Let it dry completely. Step 3: Use at least 3 more techniques from the choices below...feel free to use more...to create fabulously layered backgrounds.
Step 4: Cut each of your 2 pieces of cardboard in half and send one of each to each of your 2 partners. Each partner will receive 2 pieces of layered background approx. 8" X 5" (20 cm x 12.5 cm). When you send to your partners you must include a note describing your process. Don't worry if you think your backgrounds look ugly somewhere along the way. It happens~~smile~~There is nothing that another layer of paint wash can't fix. The results are sometimes surprising and the process is sooo much fun! When is the background done? When it looks right to you! If you have posted a question below, would you please also pm me to let me know as I don't check my swaps every day. Thx. Have fun! |
