Description:

This swap was suggested by @melimar This will be for beginners (mainly because I am hosting the swap and I will be a beginner LOL), however everyone is welcomed to join.

We will swap handmade stickers using sticker paper like This or THIS. Does not have to be those brands, you can use whatever brand is available to you.

Requirements:

  • 1 partner = 5 handmade stickers (No computer generated or sticker machines for this swap)

  • Stickers should be no larger than 5 inches.

Edited: If you would like to make stickers that are less than 1.5 inches then you will need to double them amount. For example if you make a flower sticker that is 1 inch you will need to make 2 of them instead of just one. If you go any smaller then use common sense, and don't skimp on your partner

  • Totally senders choice, but it is always a good idea to check for dislikes, but that is up to you.

  • You can use any medium you like (except computer generated), but let's keep the embellishments to a minimum so the postage will be cheaper.

  • Stamped images are wonderful for this swap - be sure to color with bright markers to make them "pop". Hand drawn is awesome as well.

  • Remember NO computer generated stickers or sticker machines.

  • Edited - You can cut the stickers out OR leave them on the paper. It is up to the sender. However; take a look at my answer in the comment section below regarding packing tape.

Blah Blah Blah Flakers Blah Blah Blah.

If you have any issues with this swap, please PM me so I can try to fix the problem Oh and no hate mail about not being able to use sticker machines. :P

Other than that have fun and stick away!!!

My partner be warned: I cannot draw. lol

No drawing talent required for this swap! I am going to use stamped images. : )

If we use 8.5 x 11 sticker paper, should we leave the sheet(s) intact for our partners to cut the stickers as they choose, or should we cut them each individually (as shown in @melimar 's example)?

Paige1900 02/15/2013 #

That will be up to the sender. However; I was playing around last night, and made one. After I had it all colored in and exactly as I wanted it, I took a piece of large packing tape and place on the picture. Then I cut it out (like @melimar 's). It looks really good, because it has a gloss like most real stickers. And I think it will last longer.

So to make the answer to your question just a little longer and not to the point. LOL....Yes, you can keep them on the same sheet if you would like. That will be up to you. (But I personally am not going to). : )

cool! I love this swap! Tho the size is a bit too big in some cases especially if you are planning to do long (strip like) stickers or if you go hand-drawn!

Paige1900 02/16/2013 #

You think 1.5 inches is too large? I guess if you want to go smaller than 1.5 inches you will need to add more stickers. I personally do not like little stickers and the ones I have made so far are around 1.5 - 3 inches. I will edit the swap and add a different size dimension. (you sure are a lot of trouble young lady :P )

Here are some I have been playing around with:

lol! I don't do it for trouble (and I would send more than 5 anyway!) but my biggest stamp is hardly 2 inches (and it is only one) and drawing is extremely consuming to have a nice result.

Where did you get your paper? I don't have a staples near me.

Paige1900 02/20/2013 #

Wal-Mart...but you can actually use extra large address labels. They are made out of the exact same paper. That is why I said it was okay to use sticker paper, but it doesn't have to be those brands. : )

nermalski 02/25/2013 #

Yeah my wal mart didn't have any at either one. I got the big sheets of shipping labels. I stamped some up and used my watercolor crayons. They are drying now. I'm going to try the tape over them tomorrow.

Mine went out today. Enjoy.

I just put them on my Flickr. Don't peek terry if you want to be surprised. I stamped some, and drew some.
