Using the tutorial listed below - you will make each of your 2 partners, 2 squares, for a total of 4 squares. The squares will have a total 6 rows, and measure 8 inches each. The squares will be made in one solid color (NO VARIEGATED-MULTICOLOR) using a worsted weight yarn such as Red Heart or Caron. Each partner will receive 2 different color squares, you can use the same 2 colors for both partners, or different colors, as long as each partner receives 2 squares that are different colors. *just a couple notes- This is a great square for beginners, and a fun easy square for those who have been crocheting a while I have made a sample square, using Red Heart yarn, and a size H hook it came out to size required for the swap. Accuracy is key so that the squares can be sewn together, Please “play†with the square to get the required size! I added 3 chains at each corner, whichin the end I think helps the square lay flat and the stitches aren't as tight together. The number of DC’s listed for each row is the amount on each side of the square, not the total all away around! Please weave in all loose ends!! Since this is senders choice on color, feel free to start on your squares now!! Above all have fun. Since this is a group swap it will be open to all members so it will be international, so please be aware of this! Please if you sign up for this swap make sure you send out on time, this is part of the requirements. I plan to make this an ongoing swap if participation is good. I would like to collect enough squares, to make a lovely patchwork afghan. I will angel as needed, but since this is a group swap we shouldn't have any problems. If you have any recent 3's in the last 3 months, please pm me and let me know what is going on. |
