Description:

Our new and improved Swapthamology group needs a new and improved logo!

Please read through the Swapthamology forum thread titled "Thinking, Thinking, Thinking" to get a comprehensive overview of our vision for the reconfiguration of this group, especially regarding the new description for our homepage. Once you've done that, spend some time brainstorming ideas for artwork that might convey the group's current focus.

Using any technique or medium, express your best idea in the form of a two-dimensional or three-dimensional piece of art. Your piece must be at least as large as a twinchie (2" X 2") if flat or a minimum of two inches (5 cm) tall if three-dimensional, but you can choose to make it larger.

Before mailing the swap to your partner, take a clear picture of your piece. Please make sure no other objects appear in the photo with your artwork. Post that picture in the forum thread that will be opened for this purpose. If you are unable to post photographs in the forums, another swapthamologist who can will gladly retrieve your picture from your Flickr account and post it for you. After a secret-ballot vote on these photographs, the winning entry will become our permanent logo. All entries will be displayed for one week as the group's temporary logo. The SB name of the artist (that would be you) responsible for the posted logo will be acknowledged on the homepage.

Include a note to your partner explaining the thinking behind your creation. Tell her about your process, why you chose the materials you did, and clarify design elements that may be abstract or not readily evident without explanation.

This is an opportunity for you to flex your creative muscles, do what you do best, and make an artistic statement about yourself and this group. Have fun with this challenge!
