For this swap I am combining two ides into 1 kawaii package of awesomeness! @pinkstrawberryz had a good idea to make a kawaii craft box. So idea one: check. Also why not throw some Origami Lucky Stars into the mix? Idea two:check. Now onto the long detailed part (I'll try to keep it short. No promises.) You will be making 1 cardboard 3x3x1 collage kawaii box filled with origami lucky stars for 1 partner. Senders choice. Clicky for box image If the box is slightly bigger then that is okay. However, try to keep size difference only by .5 so everyone is close to same size. So, go to your local Hobby Lobby or Micheals and find yourself a 3x3 cardboard box. At my Hobby Lobby these sell for $0.99 a box. You only need one but might want to buy other sizes and shapes. You might just want to do this again for yourself. If you need more glue! Look for glue. This part is preference on what you use. You have your Modge Podge. I wouldn't go matte. Maybe Glossy. I like Glossy. Then you have your Glue Sticks. Either work fine. Both have their pros and cons. I'm probably going with both. Glue stick to get the initial piece down then Modge Podge to seal. Yes, Modge Podge can leave a tacky feel. I've found that if you let it sit for awhile it's not really noticeable after awhile. A day or two? ~ If you want or can spend the extra money invest in acrylic clear sealer. Few coats and it's insta gone tacky. (at least that's what I've heard....) ~ Now you've got your 3x3x1 box, glue, and your home ready to make some kawaii goodness happen. What do you do now? Find your kawaii extras. Mini memos, 4x6 memos, deco tape, sticker flakes, letter sheet papers, and sticker sheets. You will be using the listed above ^ items to decorate your box. Collage style! The whole outside of the box. Don't just stick it anywhere and anyhow. Make it look nice. Something you'd LOVE to get yourself. I want to hear how hard it was for you to send your decorated box away to your partner! How you drove the long way to the post office that day debating if you should make them a different one instead. This is senders choice. The theme is whatever theme you want. Heck you don't even need a theme. If you want Rilakkuma break dancing with Piggy Girl then by all means. Or if you want make a theme. Sweets, Rilakkuma, Pandas. It doesn't matter. Have fun with it. ~ This part is OPTIONAL! Get out your other crafting goodies. Ribbon, buttons, flat back pearls, glitter glue, acrylic jewels, cabochons, paper flowers, and whatever else that would work kawaii themed and decorate the top of your lid. Do a little or a lot. Just make it look good! Need an idea on what to do? I've got you. Check out Kawaii`neh! Blog She's got some cute boxes there. Bigger, but you get the idea. Have your box all decorated or waiting for a part to dry? That's fine you're not done! I know, I know so demanding. Haha. Make those Origami Lucky Stars. I want that 3x3x1 box filled! Now don't worry. You don't have to make the tiny ones. You can make whatever size. Though it wouldn't hurt to mix it up. Some small and some big. Also you don't have to buy special paper. You can buy some pretty scrap booking paper and cut strips out and make your own. Also, don't make them all out of the same paper. Boring. The inside of the box should look as colorful and pretty as the outside. They are stars after all. Never made one T-T then clicky here One of the best and easiest to fallow tutorials I've seen on it. I'm more of a have to watch then read it type of person. So YouTube FTW! Got the gist of the swap? Well lets go over it 1 more time! You'll be making 1 (one) 3x3x1 collage kawaii box for 1 partner. You will do the best job you can to make it look good. If you are having a hard time sending it away then you did your job. It will be kawaii. You can make it any theme if you want a theme if you even have a theme. Senders choice. ~ You can embellish the lid if you want. This is NOT a requirement. It is OPTIONAL! ~ Fill it with Origami Lucky Stars. Different sizes and colors would be great. Package it carefully. You can stuff it in a box bubble wrapped all over or you can stick it in a bubble wrapped envie. Either works fine. Just make sure to tell the post office to treat it like it was their 1st born child. Don't forget your note. Send by the send date and NO flaking -.- I will get Pattie after you! You'll have quite a bit of time to work on this swap. That way you can redo boxes if you have to. Have plenty of time to decorate your box and fold stars. You'll have a month. So no reason not to get it out on time. Have fun! I tried to keep it short..... Questions or concerns feel free to bug me. If anything doesn't make sense or is confusing please let me know. I don't want anything to be confusing. I tried to make it as clear as I could. Though just because it makes sense to me doesn't mean it does to everyone else T-T |
