It’s hot I’ve tried with ‘lectric fans, And pools and ice cream cones. I think I’ll take my skin off And sit around in my bones. From Shel Silverstein’s “It’s Hot, ” A Light in the Attic. This is one HOTTTTTT summer. As usual, I find myself taking cover in the air conditioned indoors and doing the outside stuff after 6:30 p.m.--or when the sun is hiding behind the clouds before a good downpour. Even though I have a very long “to-do” list, this “girl just wanna have fun.” But I’m running out of “fun things to do indoors” and I'm feeling a bit of the summertime blues. For this inexpensive one-stamp swap, you will send your partner a list of 5 “cheap” ways to “beat the heat” and stay entertained and cool during the hottest months of the summer. Be creative. Take some time to make the list and the envelope summer cheery. Why? Because my #1 way of “beating” the summer blues is pulling bright and cheery mail out the mailbox. Isn’t it yours too? In short—one 5-item list for overcoming the summertime blues to one partner. Decorate list and envelope using any method you choose. Most important, have fun! Thanks to @Stefystar3 for allowing me to modify her swap idea for a WIYM group swap. Her email swap can be found at The cure for the summer time blues. |
