I love altered text/blackout poetry ATCs, but the ones I've received in public swaps are mostly awful. Flimsy, ugly, falling apart, look like they took 3 1/2 minutes to make... Let's do this right and make nice altered text ATCs for each other!! For this swap you will make 1 ATC for 1 partner. Your ATC will use a page from some type of book, with words selectively covered and exposed to form a sentence, thought, or poem. If you are unfamiliar with this type of art, look at the example above, Google blackout poetry/altered text, or PM me with questions. Boilerplate: Your ATC should be mounted in a sturdy manner. Book/normal paper is flimsy. I recommend using some kind of board or more firm paper. My favorite is Strathmore Illustration Board which is awesome for gluing stuff like book pages to and can be found online or in many art stores. You are not obligated to look at your partner's profile before starting your art, but it's always nice to do if you have time. Artist trading cards are 2.5 x 3.5 inches. If you are a swapper in good standing who makes NICE ATCs, please join us at ATCs That Don't Suck. |
