Description: | |
I've always loved the idea of a bunch of friends gathered around at an old-fashioned quilting bee, making a warm, snuggly blanket for each other. Except... I don't quilt. So, why not have a crocheting bee?! We'll be making each other crocheted afghan squares, in each person's chosen colors, that can be joined together later to make an afghan. I'd love to have this swap go at least 10 rounds, so we can each get enough squares to make a 4"x5" afghan! You will have two partners. You'll be sending each partner a completed 12" crocheted square, in their chosen color(s), and a short card/note. The square you make does not necessarily need to contain all the colors they have listed, but use as many as fit your pattern! All squares should be finished - that means ends woven in, and clipped - and should be made from worsted weight yarn. Your note should say a little bit about you, how you started crocheting, your family/pets/other hobbies, etc. When you sign up for this swap, leave a comment below listing the color(s) of your afghan, so your partner knows which ones to use! If you're OK with your partner adding in additional complimentary colors, you can specify that as well. You will have 3 weeks after partners are assigned to send your squares. (Please note: I know buying new colors of yarn can be expensive, but the point of this swap is to get squares in your specific color scheme. Please don't sign up if that will be a problem.) Swap requirements: - at least a 4.8 rating - at least 10 (total) completed Type 2 and 3 swaps - no 1's or 3's in the past 6 months I will angel any flakers, if I have to... but... please don't flake! That's just not nice :( |
