Description:

A number of newbies have expressed interest in ATCs, so this is one in a series of monthly artist trading card swaps. These swaps will help you learn to construct an ATC with minimal requirements for artistic ability. One card to one partner.

The only two rules about ATCs are:

  1. They must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. (64mm x 89 mm)
  2. They must never be sold, only traded.

Okay, are you ready for the swap requirements?

Don't be scared. :)

  • Cut your card stock to the correct size (see above). If you want to make the card extra sturdy, glue a second piece of card stock to the back. For this swap, your edges should be cut neatly and evenly.
  • Draw or stamp a leaf or multiple leaves on your card stock. Your leaves can be realistic or abstract.
  • Add color to your card. You can use watercolors, colored pencils, inks, crayons. Do your best work!
  • At this point, you can add additional elements but this is optional, not required. This might include glitter glue, text, brads, etc.
  • Turn your card over and write the name of the swap, your name, and the date on the back.
  • Send it off to your partner on time.

Rate promptly and accurately.
Communicate with me and your partner if there are problems.

Can we do rubbings of leaves instead of stamps ( i have none) and I am not much of an artist right now as I have 6 torn tendons.

TC 08/25/2013 #

@transplanted1 , yes, rubbings would be fine. They are a way to "draw" leaves. Make sure you add color to the card after doing the rubbing - the added color is one of the swap requirements.

oh man...I misread that and just realized it has to be stamped or drawn...I colored a chipboard leaf...argh.....

Mine is drawn and I am not exactly an artist.

I'm not an artist, either. The idea of this swap was to get experience in crafting an ATC. No skill level required. :)
