In Japanese, "samba" sounds like the form of the number 3 that you use to count birds (三羽, sanba). So for this swap, you will draw three birds on one ATC for your partner! Pretty much the only rules are the ATC size (2½×3½ inches, or 6.4×8.9 cm), the use of sturdy backing such as cardstock, and the fact that the birds must be done by hand (no stickers or digital printing). You can use coloured pencils, water colours, oil paints, charcoal, markers, …. The birds can be the same (for example, three ducklings) or different ones (such as a stork, a penguin, and an ostrich). Additional components to the image (besides the three birds) are allowed but not required. (For example, a digitally-printed background, or glitter, or cloud stickers in the "sky", or distressed edges, or other embellishments.) Finally, on the back of the ATC, include at least a picture title, your name, and the date drawn. Other information (such as swap-bot username, swap title, and email address) are optional. (If swap-bot username and swap title aren't on the ATC themselves, though, please include a note with that information on it so that your partner can rate you!) Artists of all skill levels are welcome! Image credit: "ducklings - finished!" by aimee rivers (sermoa), cc-by-sa 2.0 |
