Description:

How about a chunky book of birds?

We will be making Chunky Book pages, with a "backyard bird" theme to them, for 5 partners plus 1 page to keep for our own. That is 1 page per partner plus an additional one to keep……..6 pages in all.

The pages must be 4 ½ inch x 4inch. Be sure it is 4 x 4.5 inches. You will need that extra ½ inch (on the front left side, back right side) blank, no embellishments, to allow for binding. It will be for not if you creat / embellish that 1/2 inch. It will only be lost when the book is bound. The front of the page should be heavily decorated and embellished while keeping bulky items to the right, away from the binding area. The back should be nicely finished and signed by the artist. Please use sturdy cardstock as a base for your pages.

Create your pages depicting a backyard bird (cardinal, blue jay, robin, sparrow, wren, crow, hummingbird, etc.), or their nest with their eggs or an artistic expression of the bird, i.e. the wing, eye, beak, talon, etc. This is an artistic endeavor and we should create that which we would love to receive.

Please do not sign up if you haven’t the time for this or you are over loaded with too many swaps. This swap will require some time and thought and creative energy. No one wants to receive something that is just thoughtlessly and haphazardly thrown together last minute.

No newbies. No no-sends for 2 months before the swap starts. And no one with a rating lower than 4.7

As the hostess of this swap, I reserve the right to ban anyone who does not meet the requirements. Please....do your best to get your pages out on time.

See you around the swap-bot and have a most beautiful day…..

Because I am from Germany, I don't know what a Chunky Book is. Is it the same as "scrap booking"? Can you explain it to me? Thanks for answering, Cosima

I am so very sorry to be so long in getting back to you cosima…….been a bit distracted.

A chunky book is a book of heavily embellished pages. In this swap You will be creating 6 heavily embellished pages using heavy card stock and sending out one page to 5 partners. I like to glue 2 pieces of card stock together for each page I create. All pages should, but do not have to be, the same. You will then receive 5 heavily embellished pages from other partners. That ½ inch edge is where you will bind the 5 pages received with your 6th page to make a book. You may want to, but you need not to, create a cover (front and back) for your own book.

Some pages to for inspiration:

I hope this helps and that you find you can join us. If you feel it is a little overwhelming and choose not to join us in this swap, I will certainly understand…………and sure that we will one day cross paths again here on the swap-bot.

Hope your day is a beautiful one….

Where do we locate who we swap with?

mangopassion 07/19/2008 #

lovinggreen ~ in the right column at the very top of this page, there will be a yellow box. In that box, there is a link that says "See the partners you send to". If you click on that another window will pop open with all the info in it. :o) Hope that helps!

Also, you can see this link for more help regarding this -- very helpful. :o)
