Here we go again, folks! Old Box Postcard #4 I suspect there will be some especially cool boxes around this time of year with the holiday season in full swing. Have fun!

It seems that almost everything comes in a cardboard box these days (food items, office supplies, household kits, old record sleeves, etc.). Why not put those boxes to good use before recycling the rest? Taken out of context, some of the box images can be pretty cool. Get creative and see what kind of fun and funky postcards you can make out of that cereal box (for example). Try and stick with thin cardboard boxes rather than thick (for example, packing boxes are probably too thick and more costly and bulky to send than a cereal box) and cut them to the standard 4 x 6 postcard shape. If you wish, let your partner know what the postcard used to be (especially if it is not obvious) and have fun!

For this swap you will be asked to send 1 postcard to 5 different people. This swap is open to international swappers.

If this swap continues to be a hit I will make it a monthly event.

Happy swapping!

I love this idea!! I am already in the recycled box ATC swap, but this one sounds pretty interesting. Do we need to embellish the postcard in anyway, or are we just cutting up the boxes to postcard size and mailing them off like a postcard? I think these are going to be pretty cool

Sounds like a fun idea but it's coming up a little too quick for me. I'll try to watch for your next one and sign on then. (Maybe a little more time between sign-up deadline and send date would be helpful--like a couple of weeks, perhaps? Just a suggestion.)

I liked doing my Recycle Box ATC so this sounds like fun too.

Hummmm, I think I just threw away a Kleenex box. I'll have to dig it out of the trash can.

Hi everyone just leaving a message so you know. This is Susi's daughter Kaity, my mom is in the hospital right now we aren't sure for how long but hopefully not to long. She may or may not be out in time for this or any of her other swaps but she said she will try and get them done at the hospital.

Lots of Love, Kaity

This sounds really fun. I'm swamped with so many swaps during the holidays. I'll keep on the look out for this one if it comes up again. I would have signed up if the lead time was a little longer. January 1st -new year's day is too hectic in our household.

Just a note to let my partners know that somehow i have misplaced my postcards I had already for this swap. I am going to search tonight so I can hopefully get them out by the due date. If not, please excuse my delay! susi

I mailed mine today, but neglected to mark old box postcard # 4 on them. You will recognize them as old boxes though, and I've done a little creative stamping on the back. I'm a little nuts from the holidays. Sueb

P.S. This is so much fun! Thanks PaperPrincess for hosting the swap.

I searched like a mad woman last night for my postcards, but to now avail. I think I will make some new ones, but as soon as i find the "origials" I wanted to send, I'll do that. Then my partners will get 2, that is if my first set ever shows it's face again! susi

Only had 2 stamps left, so am sending out my 2 partners from the UK first cause it takes longer to get there, will buy more stamps and have the others out by the 31 :)

Ok, all my cards are mailed today, Wednesday, Jan. 3rd. (Mon and Tues) were holidays here in the USA.

So be on the lookout Kathie in the UK; Jade in Australia; Sue in Virginia, USA; Carissa in Oregon, USA; and Julie N. in New Mexico, USA.

Enjoy!

Thank you to all of my partners for the time you spend in selecting, and preparing, these great boxes. I'm pretty lucky to get such a great bunch matches, EVERY swap! I'm looking forward to #5. I also find I am triming all interesting boxes BEFORE they head out to the recycle bin; in anticipation of the next swap. My local recycle folks must wonder. You are a creative bunch of folks. Thanks agian for another great swap. I've left feedback for you all. :-)

I received a postcard today, but not sure of my partner's name...it is a brown cardboard postcard from a box of Harry and David fruit. The name signed looks like Certy...? Mailed from here in the USA as there is a $.24 butterfly stamp on it. Help me out...It's either Christy or Susi. It doesn't LOOK like "Christy" but want to be sure.

I have gotten cards from Sue B, Julie, Carissa, and Kathie so far susi

I recieved a rating of 1 today, even though I did indeed send all my swaps out. Here is an email to my partner (Lorraine Glen aka sp0z)I don't want to have a rating of 1 if it was a postal error or got losy in the mail. i am sending a new one out tomorrow, just in case. susi here is the email I want to get to her, but I don't have her email addy: I was one of your partners on swap bot for the old box postcards. I sent them all out quite some time ago, and even have had a rating on one. I will send another one out right away so that you do indeed recieve one, I honestly don't know what might have happened to the one I did send. I sent cards out that were boxes embellished with stickers. I will get another one made and sent tomorrow, so you can change my rating. It frustrates me that I now have one rating of one, but I understand your frustration as well, I have had a few people not send anything, and they don't even respond, as I am doing to you. Please forgive the mail system, that is the only thing i can think of, so now... if you recieve the new one, and the old one, then you definately could change my rating, at least I hope that you would. Sincerely, Susi Unupi kindertcher@aol.com

me again... it's frustrating to get a rating of one, you know, especilly after you have all 5s up until then. I understand the frustration, but sometimes things get lost in the mail. Or possibly they are just late. Anyway, I am sending out a second card to replace the one my partner has not received yet, hopefully then she'll fix the rating. thanks for allowing me to vent. I too have not received some of the things i was expecting, so I know how frustrating it is. But at least I am trying to fix the postal service's error. susi thanks for letting me vent.
