Terry Pratchett has now been entertaining us and making us think deeply in silly ways for thirty years ... Let's celebrate Hogswatch again in an even JOLLIER way this year by creating, purchasing, altering, improvising (watch out for those live robins, please!) or artificing THREE Hogswatch cards for THREE partners. That's one for each decade of Discword knowledge here on Roundworld. Hogswatch cards are often available for purchase via the Cunning Artificer --looks like they are out of stock at the moment, but that may change, and you can at least check out the stamps and other fun supplies there and get inspired to make a card. They are also available at Sandra Kidby's web site -- they look to be in stock there. I've also found them periodically on eBay and etsy. I couldn't find any on Cafepress or Zazzle this morning, but they might be there under a different search term -- let me know if you find one! Altered cards, cards printed on the computer, amazingly elaborate handmade cards, diplomatic scrolls from Klatch, a postcard from Twoflower, greetings handwritten in dip pen by Lord Vetinari's scribe, a Hogswatch version of the Hedgehog song scrawled on a beer mat by Nanny Ogg, joke cards from the Fool's Guild, a Hogswatch wish list from Hex, library slips signed with a seasonal greeting by the Librarian, greetings shot through with an arrow by Miss Dearhart, a form letter from a Tooth Fairy, a Hogswatch menu from the Unseen University kitchens ... well, it's all good. Be as inspired or uninspired as you like, as long as it is a sincere Hogswatch greeting.. Three cards to three partners ... signup by November 3rd, send out cards by December 3 to put your partners in a jolly Hogswatch mood. You could begin working on your designs now, if you wish. Remember, the falling star does meet the rising ape, and the most important thing that you can do to save the world is to BELIEVE! HO. HO. HO. I will check profiles to evaluate whether swappers have been NAUGHTY or NICE. I will ask folks to do 1:1 swaps with me if they are very new to Swap-Bot or have ratings concerns. I angel all my swaps, just like Lord Vetinari :) I found this lovely card, made by Pika-la-Cynique, on Deviant Art to use as a swap graphic |
