I am going to steal some of the wording from my other Mardi Gras swap for this one, cus at 5:oo am, my brain is beginning to shut down!! LOL… Mardi Gras 2007 marks the 151st year of the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans. And though Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath will be felt for a very long time, the people of New Orleans are doing what they do best; rebuilding their city and carrying on the traditions they hold dear. We can celebrate with them by honoring their age-old tradition of Mardi Gras in our artwork. In this swap you will have 1 partner and make 1 Mardi Gras themed altered CD. You will send out a total of 1 altered CD and you will receive a total of 1 altered CD. You may embellish your altered CD in any way that you like. There are a number of sites on the Internet that have information on Mardi Gras and some of the traditions of Mardi Gras, like the annual parades, the ‘Krewes’, the masks, the food, just to name a few. You can use any of the traditions on your ATC’s, just remember to use the colors of Mardi Gras. The colors of Mardi Gras are purple, green and gold. They were chosen in 1872 by that year’s ‘Rex’, or King of Mardi Gras. The meaning of the colors was established in 1892. They are as follows: purple – justice, green – faith, gold – power. As always, this is open to anyone. International ATC enthusiasts are always welcome. “Laissez les bon temps roulez! (Let the good times roll!) Susan |
