Description: | |
I was thinking that we all love to see each other's art and the round robin zines are fun, but both money and time intensive. This will give us a taste of each other's work in a big collaboration on a smaller scale. Each person will start one 5X7 postcard. By start I mean cut it out from a sturdy source (we do love those cereal boxes) and do just a background (collage, paint, whatever). Put your return address clearly in the upper left corner of the back. You may add a small note on the back, but leave room for others to add their notes too. This card is then mailed NAKED to your partner. When you receive an Add & Pass you will make your mark, add your bits, peel off the canceled stamps (or cover them over) and add new ones, change the "send-to" address and send it again on it's merry way to the next person in line. Be sure to remove that Post Office barcode too (sometimes its a sticker, sometimes orange printing) or the card would end up coming back to you again. Try and be super-careful that your glues are properly sticky and that the destination address is always clearly where it belongs. The difference between this one and some of the other Add & Pass projects on Swap-bot is that you are not restricted to a certain area of the card. You can add as much or as little as you need. It's even okay to partially cover other bits. The card will be in constant evolution as it travels. Once the partners are assigned we'll take this to the forum to keep track of the order and progress. Eventually you will get back your original card that will now be a fabulous collaboration. As with all of our SMA collaborative swaps please try to hold on to each card for no more than two weeks. These should turn around pretty quickly. |
