Description:

In this swap, you will create one doll for your one partner, using a pattern. You can alter the pattern and make your own style, and pick your own fabrics, faces, material choices, etc. When you send the doll you make to your partner, you will include a copy of the pattern that you used.
There are many free doll patterns out there, so you can pick one of those, or you can create your own. As always, please only use clean fabrics and stuffings. Your dolls do not have to be fabric.....if you have a doll pattern for a mixed media type doll, you can use that also.

Here are some examples:

Is there a minimum size requirement?

I like to make smaller sized felt dolls/animals (4-5 inches). Would it be best to make a pair if the doll is small?

Dolls that are 4-5 inches are fine. Some of the best dolls I've ever seen have been small. Cheap craft felt that you purchase for .29 cents a square isn't okay. Felted wool dolls are wonderful, and the higher quality felt (thicker/softer) is also okay, so I think you should be good to go. You can always choose to make more then one doll for your partner, though it isn't required. ;)

Oh, I hate that cheap felt. I have a bunch of it and I only use it as stuffing for teesha moore style patches. It's lousy to sew.

I use wool blend felt or felted sweaters for sewing.

Awesome.

I really want to join, but I generally work with eco-felt as I don't have local access to wool felt. I'll try to look for a doll that I can make without using felt.
