Description:

It's time to raid your stash!

Take one US Postal Service small flat rate priority mailing box (it's free at post office) and fill it full of fabric and sewing goodies for your partner! The postage is $5.60 and you can fit a lot of stuff in one box! Everyone's box should be filled to the top. If the contents can shift around, you need to add more!

You must include a minimum of 5 different fabrics. The fabric can come from your stash but it must be unused and clean. Only quality cottons please. Please check your partner's profile and do your best to send fabrics you think they will enjoy!

Fabric can be cut into: fat qtrs, 10 charm squares, 3 layer cakes, 2 jelly roll strips or a sandwich size baggies filled with scraps (no smaller than 3X3 if square and no shorter than 2 inches wide and 6 inches if they are strips)

Other items you might include:

buttons, interesting thread (new please), small scissors, rulers, wonder clips, thimble, fabric marking tools, measuring tape, pincushion, sewing notecards, notepads or post-its, project kits. fusible, fancy pins, something handmade...BE CREATIVE!

Please do not include more than 2 of the same item (except buttons and fabric!) All items should be new or like new.

Packages must be mailed within 2 weeks, so start collecting all those goodies now!

I will review all swappers before assigning partners and will remove any questionable swappers. No one wants to be flaked on after putting together a great box for their partner. If you cannot send on time or have a problem, please email me and your partner. It's much easier to be forgiving if you know what is going on.

You should rate your partner as a "5" if you receive you package within one week of the last send date AND they have sent the minimum of 5 fabrics along with an assortment of sewing accessories. If your partner sent you "crap", please contact them and give them a chance to resend before rating a "3".

I love batiks and polka dots too.

oops, meant to say that I'm still me, the host. just had a name change because of a problem.

Just want to make sure I'm correct.

The "small flat rate box" is the vhs tape sized one. Is that the box you are thinking of?

PolkaDotty 01/ 9/2014 #

Yes that's the one although its a bit bigger than a vhs. The actual measurements are: Outside: 8 11/16" x 5 7/16" x 1 3/4" Inside: 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8"

Here's a commercial for another swap you might like: Anything Scarf Swap

the host is really a sweetie so I sent her a message and asked if I could make a patchwork scarf since I don't knit or crochet, and she said yes! So I hope you'll sign up and make a scarf to swap. I spent a few hours picking out, cutting and laying out my fabric...6+ feet of prints, solids and batiks designed to go with a pair of jeans (or anything denim). I hope you will sign up!
