Since St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner, lets use green buttons, any variation. Although the swap is named "Dictionary Flower Buttons", you can punch or die cut ANY cardstock, printed paper, book pages, whatever, except newspaper (due to archival quality) or use store bought flowers. Challenge but not required: perhaps somehow incorporating a shamrock or St. Patties day themed print into the flower?? Make sure the flowers are at least one inch but no bigger then 2.5 inches & lets use a couple of layers please. If you use 1" small flowers, make 8, otherwise lets go with 6. Seems like there a little bit of confusion about this part last swap... please no more than 2 identical flowers. You can use the same paper for all your flowers, BUT change it up a bit. Try staining the paper a different color before punching out the flowers, use a different flower pattern, different buttons. Get creative! Also, if you use sturdy cardstock for your base, you may want to use thinner paper on top inorder to allow for poofing. I tried poofing sturdy cardstock & it didn't work so well :/ Please cut the shanks off the buttons, if possible, in order for them to lay flat against the flowers. The buttons can be glued or sewn onto the flowers. The completed flowers should be put on used acetate, a transparency sheet or sturdy cardstock with small glue dots or whatever medium you feel will work in order to ship. Remember we are the queens of craft & know these should be made using quality materials. Click here for a sample tutorial Check out the video. For shipping purposes I'd skip the "poofing" & leave that to the recipient. |
