Description:

The March 2014 Fandom in a Mini Bag swap is the Muppets.

Step 1: Please list in the comments your favorite characters, movies, shows, moments, or any other preference you may have.

Step 2: After partners are assigned, check to see what your partner likes. You can follow-up with a message if you need to know more. Then scrounge up, buy, and/or create items that fit in a bag. Your bag must contain at least 5 different types of items although more is certainly encouraged to make your bag look full of goodies.

Some ideas of themed items: stickers, ATCs, postcards, toys/action figures, comics, note cards, pins/buttons, magnets, jewelry, trading cards, legal music CDs, charms, ornaments, bookmarks, address labels, plushies/stuffies, promo stills/autograph cards, fanfic drabbles/ficlets, etc.

More specific ideas: Fozzie joke book, build-your-own-muppet, recipes from the Sweedish Chef, Muppet Show playbill, latest movie swag, etc.

Be sure to check your partner's profile so you don't send anything he or she might be allergic to.

Step 3: Put the items in a ziplock-type bag. Size: 1 quart (AT LEAST 8.5inches by 7 inches or 21.5cm by 18cm). You can decorate the bag or incorporate the bag into something (mount it or sew something around it). If you want to make or buy a bag instead of using a ziplock plastic one, that's fine as well, but it should be at least a quart in size. All items you gather or create should fit into the bag (if a couple are too big, that's fine).

Assemble your bags during the month of March and please send by the deadline (April 1)

Group rating rules apply. NO FLAKING ALLOWED! Flakers will be heckled and banned from the theater.

The character I identify with most is Scooter. I love him. When I was a baby, my parents called me "Miss Piggy" and I still have a little Piggy swag/bling from my childhood. heehee

My absolute favorite characters: Beaker (MEEP!), Kermit, Rowlf

Character I also adore: Fozzie, Pepe, Gonzo, Piggy, Rizzo, Robin

I love: the "classic" muppet show (the theme song is my ringtone) and the reboot from the 90s, Mahna Mahna, Pigs in Space, Sweedish Chef singing, all the movies (my favorites are the Great Muppet Caper, The Muppet Movie, Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, and The Muppets but I really do love them all)

I do love Sesame Street, Muppet Babies, and Fraggle Rock as well. (If you want my favorites for any of these, let me know)

I grew up watching Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock, The Muppet Show, and Muppets Tonight!! I've so many fond memories watching the shows, and playing with the muppet toys (the ones from mcdonalds). :D

My favourite characters are: Baby Fozzie, Baby Rowlf, Beaker (& Dr Bunsen), Kermit, the Swedish Chef, and Statler & Waldolf (they crack me up)! :)

Some of my favourite songs from the series include: Mahna Mahna, Rainbow Connection, and Bohemian Rhapsody!

I absolutely LOVE all thing Muppets! I love the original movies, the original television shows, the new ones...anything! My husband even bought me the collection of Muppet shows from Time Life! As well as a small collection of some of Fraggle Rock. hehe My favorite movie is The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

My absolute favorite Characters are Pepe, Animal and Rizzo (and all the rats!), but there isn't any Muppet that I do not like! Beaker, Gonzo and the Hecklers are funny as well.

I have a question about this swap and the quart-size bag swaps in general: I see it has to be 7 inches in height, but I know that the maximum height for a letter-size envelope is 6 inches (or maybe 6 1/4). Is it okay if any inch of the baggie is folded over to fit in the envelope?

KateKintail 02/20/2014 #

@maggiepond Yes, you may fold the bag. However, one of the requirements is to fill the bag with items, so a flat envelope probably won't work for that. Padded envelopes and boxes are going to be more useful.

@ksj1717 Thanks. I try! :-)

My favorites of the original muppets are Kermit and Gonzo. I also like Beaker and Dr Honeydew. I love Fraggle Rock, especially Red. From Sesame Street, I like Ernie, Oscar, and Grover. I'm not a big fan of Muppet Babies, but I did always love Nanny's socks.

There's probably nothing muppet-related you could send that I would hate, but those are my favorites.

Favorite characters: Kermit, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Beaker, Swedish Chef, The Electric Mayhem, Fraggles (especially Boober), Grover, Oscar, Ernie & Bert

Really, there's only a couple Muppets I'm not big on - Pepe & Elmo.

I love The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, (old school) Sesame Street, all the Muppet Movies, including "The Muppets".

You could send me absolutely anything Muppet related, and I would love it!

Gonzo is my absolute favorite Muppet, followed by Grover. My son is in love with Elmo and Cookie Monster, if you wanted to include something for him, that'd be sure to get you a heart ;) I LOVE all of the Muppet movies, but especially Muppet Treasure Island....I've got cabin fever!!!!! The original Muppet Show is the best, anything to do with that era is great.

Cartilong 02/26/2014 #

Unfortunately, I have to drop from this swap. :( You guys have fun!

I have so much Sesame Street swag already, I really don't know if I could handle more :)

I love Fraggles (Boober and Red!) and basically anything else Muppets -- Sweetums, Gonzo, Rowlf, Statler and Waldorf, Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, Sam the Eagle, Doctor Honeydew + Beaker, The Swedish Chef, and obviously Kermit. I'll be happy with anyone/anything. :D

I love Muppet Treasure Island and The Muppet Christmas Carol as fave movies. And I grew up watching The Muppets Tonight, so I have vivid recollections of a lot of that.
