Have you ever heard of or tried a magic yarn ball? If not, you're in for some good surprises! And it’s so simple, it’s brilliant. Basically, you wrap cool little treasures up in a ball of yarn, and give it as a gift. As the recipient crafts with the yarn the treasures fall out one by one, and they discover the fun as they knit or crochet. The end product will probably look like a piece of abstract art, with odds and ends poking out. Magic Yarn Balls must be sent by February 10, 2007. There is no theme for this swap. Check out your partner's profile to see what he/she likes and if they have any allergies. Even though this isn't a themed swap, it does occur pretty close to Valentine's Day. If you want to include something--or even make your yarn ball themed--related to Valentine's Day that's fine. Other than that, anything goes! Rules: NO ACRYLIC YARN!! Choose something that is wool, cotton, silk or a combination. Please use a whole skein/hank and where possible include the band so your partner knows what they have got. Contents should value approx $15 or equivalent exluding postage and the cost of the yarn. This is the US version of the Magic Yarn Ball Swap (there's already a European version). Due to so many people abusing Swap-bot for their own personal gain and not fulfilling their end of the swap, you must have a minimum rating of 4.5 to participate. Contact me if you are in process of getting your rating changed and explain the situation. However, if you're new to Swap-bot you won't have a rating. To participate, you must have a valid email (I will be checking) and your profile must be filled out when you sign up. If I am unable to contact you prior to the end of sign up, you will not be allowed to participate. We really need to be sure that everyone plays fair, right? |
