Tangledthreads had started a Tiny Summer Book and had to cancel it. I would like to start it up again. I thought it would be a nice little addition to the summer chunky book pages we have been working on, plus an opportunity to use up the leftover summer embellishments and cardstock. We will be creating one book for one partner. The book measures 3 x 3 inches. It will consist of 4 pages (front To back) and each inside page will be an interpretational depiction of summer using the 6 letters of the word “SUMMER". The first page inside (the back side of the front cover) would be the letter S. On that page one might have a Seaside scene or Sea Shells or Sailboats, etc. The next page (opposite the “S" page) would be "U"……maybe an Umpire calling the third strike in a baseball game. And so on it would go till you've gotten to the last page (which would be the inside or back side of the back cover) and that would be the letter "R"……..maybe rickshaw races … Be sure to use HEAVY cardstock or glue 2 pieces of medium weight cardstock together for each page. Both the front and back covers should be decorated. Title the front cover…..either “Tiny SUMMER Book" or just simply “SUMMER". Sign and date back cover…..maybe a reference to swap-bot. Each page will be 3 x 3 inches. Leave a ½ inch on the front left edge of the page free of embellishments so that you can bind the pages together. That means we will be creating on a 3 x 2 ½ inch space. Once we have created all 4 pages (front and back covers included), we shall bind them using 3 small holes punched into the ½ inch we left open on the front left hand side of each page. If you have a hard time punching through all 4 pages, simply punch out 3 small holes in the front cover / first page and use it as a template for the rest. We will stack the pages [front cover – 2 inside pages – back cover] and bind them together using pretty summer ribbons. Please do not use staples. As I stated before, this would be a great opportunity to use up the remains of your spring / summer ribbons and embellishments. For those of you who are into “inchies" , this tiny book would be a great use of your tiny charms, brads, etc. I need not remind you that this is an artistic endeavor. Please try to get your books out on time. And…….Have Fun! This swap is limited to those with at least 3 mailed and rated swaps, no recent "no-sends" and a 4.7 rating and a member of the Chunky Books and Pages Group. See you around the swp-bot and have a beautiful day…. Robin |
