One of my favorite things to do with washi tape is to punch shapes from it. Let's create some washi embellished art with punches! Create one piece of art, note card or mail art (size is sender's choice between ATC size and 5x7") for one partner using punched shapes. To punch washi tape, simply stick it down onto plain white paper or card stock, placing strips side by side to accommodate the punch size. You can layer them with multiple layers of punched shapes to give an added dimension. If you have a die cutting machine such as QuicKutz, Sizzix or similar, you can use those shapes as well. The idea is to create printed paper with washi and cut it precisely with a tool. Once you have your shapes punched out, adhere them to a decorated background to create a picture. The background can be washi taped card stock, or printed paper or something you painted or drew yourself. Create and send something that you would be happy to receive. The theme is sender's choice. Be sure you include your name and the swap title when you mail! I am making this an international swap since it should only take one stamp to mail. |
