Description:

Receiving a decorated envelope always brightens a mailbox. So, let's mail off a bit of happiness to our swap partner!

You will have one swap partner and decorate an envelope just for them. Look at their profile and pick out something (or many things) they like and use that for inspiration. It can be a color, a thing, an event, a book they mention...just make sure it is profile based.

You can use whatever materials you like for decorating the envelope. Collage, rubber stamps, pen and ink, sharpies, etc.

Include a letter to your partner to say hello. Maybe talk about something you noticed on their profile. Definitely mention the inspiration for the mail art you chose! The letter doesn't have to be super long (though it can be) but make sure it is a nice read for them. The letter can be written or typed.

This swap should be lots of fun and only cost one stamp, which makes it swap-budget friendly!

This swap is international. As always I will check profiles before assigning partners, even though it is a group swap.

I've never done mail art before. Shocking but true. ;-) I'm more crafty than artistic. Is it OK for me to join as a beginner, or are you looking for more seasoned mail artists for this one?

Beginners are always welcomed, Michele. You don't have to be artistic to do mail art (don't let the title deceive you). You could even do a solid colored envelope with paintbrush splatters of your swap partners favorite colors. I also really like rubber stamps when it comes to decorating envelopes. They are simple to use. And if you don't have any, you can always check the $1 section at Target. They have them sometimes.

Thanks, Jeni! I'm going to give it a try. Looks like fun. :-)
