Description:

Hello. This is a Book Swap.

For this swap you will have one (1) partner and you will send your partner one (1) book. You can add extra goodies, if you'd like. This is an international swap.

The books must be in good condition (used is okay). If you've already read a book, you can pass it on to someone else.

In the comments section please REMEMBER to comment what type of books you're interested in: art, non-fiction, fantasy, etc. This way your partner will have an idea as to what you enjoy.

If you're like me, you probably have a bunch of books around that you've already read and you want something new to read. If you are sending your partner a book you've already read, send a little note explaining why you enjoyed the book.

Have Fun :-)

P.S. Someone brought up a good point: will all the books be in English? Here is the answer: if you read other languages besides English, post it in a comment. Maybe your partner has a book in a different language.

Grinch 01/20/2007 #

I usually read fiction but have read all of John Grisham's books except his latest one which is non fiction. Like a good historical romance too. Like to look at art, photography and decorating books also. Used is super with me, love a book with character.

LMM 01/22/2007 #

I love to swap books! I am a voracious reader, almost everything except romance. Probably the more obscure the better for me, but there are plenty of best sellers I've missed. Favorite genres are hard and metaphysical SF, time travel, historical fiction & pretty much all non-fiction, but if you liked it (and it's not romance :>), send it!

user5866 01/24/2007 #

user5201 01/24/2007 #

user1926 01/27/2007 #

JP 01/28/2007 #

I love mysteries, science fiction and fantasy. I don't read romance novels. I do enjoy some chick lit, but not the depressing sort. No Oprah list books please....too much doom and gloom there. I have all of Agatha Christie's books already..she's my favorite author. Anything along those lines...such as Ngaio Marsh...would be great! Or whatever you'd like to send!

simindy 01/28/2007 #

Hello, This swap sounds like fun. I love reading (I'm a English major with aspirations of being a Creative Nonfiction Writing professor), and love all sorts of genres. Mainly I read:

  • Literature (classic lit. and new lit., like the stuff that used to be on the Oprah book club),
  • Latino literature
  • Memoirs (this is a hard one to give me books from, since I have TONS of memoirs (I specialize in creative nonfiction))
  • Fantasy/science fiction books,
  • Young Adult fantasy books (like Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, etc. but I've read most of those),
  • Craft books
  • Mystery

Honestly, I will like anything you send me that is well written. I read way too much and have many overflowing bookcases, so anything you like that you would like to pass on will be greatly appreciated (except for suspense/medical dramas like Grisham and whatnot). Thanks!

LuldaCasadaga55 01/28/2007 #

I like non-fiction. No romance novels. English preferred. If art books any language will do. I like books on ghosts, paranormal, etc. so, if I get an international partner I would like a ghost book from your country. Murder mystery, comedy, pet stories, travel are great also.

I'm easy to please, so used books are perfect! Thanks...

Zanara 01/28/2007 #

Are you allowing the people with more than one "no send" to stay in the swap?

cheekywabbit 01/28/2007 #

I love to read just about anything. No romance. I really love science fiction/fantansy . but anything sent will be read.

Lunaria 01/29/2007 #

sleepingrover2010 01/30/2007 #

I also want to let you know that I will be sending you a thank you note via snail mail if you are my partner. I will do the rating on the site as soon as I can. Thanks

sleepingrover2010 01/30/2007 #

I can only read in English. I am a pretty versatile reader when it comes to genre of book. However, I am a former teacher and school librarian. I would really love a children's book, no Harry Potter. I have them all. I do enjoy unique and interesting children's non-fiction books, but will be pleased with fiction as well. If fiction, I would prefer a children's novel. If you choose to get me an adult book, I enjoy mysteries, suspense, Christian fiction, and well-written romance novels. Thanks. Barb

user960 01/31/2007 #

Genres/topics I like include: fantasy, mystery, cultural (like anthropology books :D), history (Victorian and earlier), craft books (see my profile for my favorite crafts), travel, Eastern religion, Paganism, popular science, nature, language, and alternative medicine. Please no self-help, inspirational, romance (unless it's Barbara Michaels or Anne McCaffrey ;)), or popular fiction.

Also, if you're going to send me a fantasy novel, you may want to check if I have it first. I have a lot to begin with. ;D

corplyn 01/31/2007 #

I am new, and would like to join in this swap. I have lots and lots of books, I read almost any type of book. My favorite are fantasy/science fiction and mystery, but I will enjoy westerns or almost anything else, but not romance, my older daughter reads those and gives me hers, and they are taking over my shelves. Also, I only read in english, and childrens books would be acceptable, I can read them to my grandson.
