Description:

I find when creating mail art with ephemera that I'll use only part of a label, package, image, card, newspaper, magazine, etc. Seems there's always good bits leftover. I have a small box just full of them! This swap is a good candidate for using leftovers.

This is an international swap, one partner. For this swap, create a postcard for your swap partner using scrap recycled materials. Also, you can use rubber stamps, punches, washi, etc., but your postcard should include at least one piece of recycled ephemera.

Let your card tell a story, share a recipe, design, pattern, etc. Sender's choice on subject, but nice if you can refer to your partner's profile in some way, shape, or form. Size should be minimum postcard size, no smaller than 4”x 6” (A6) and no larger than 8-1/2”x 5-1/2” (A5).

Mail it naked (always my preference!) but do check with your partner and work out whether they’d prefer to receive it “undercover.” Ultimately size is sender’s choice.

Be sure to include your name and the name of the swap on the card so you can get rated. Have fun!

Tina Festa's Post Card that's used for the header was mailed from Italy to Indiana, just as you see it! The papers on it are early to mid-nineteenth century with a high cotton content.
