Description:

Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying our group so far - I know it's hard to warm up to something new at first but @MrsCrissyHall is working really hard to make this a group where you feel comfortable and have fun. This will be our second International swap (you can find our first one here)!

For this swap, we're going to be writing letters! You'll have one partner and you'll send them a nice letter in a nice envelope - nothing plain! It can be store-bought or hand decorated with doodles, stickers or anything you can come up with. In your letter you can talk about you, your country, your job, your hobbies, your travels... anything goes! The goal of this swap is to get to know each other, make new friends and hopefully you can end up regular penpals!
Added to this, you can include a small flat surprise for your partner. Some ideas of what to send are as follows (but aren't limited to):

  • A blank postcard
  • A notecard
  • A few loose stickers
  • A bookmark
  • A sticker sheet
  • An ATC or inchies made by you
  • A zine
  • Stamped or cut out images they can use for crafts
  • A small snack or candies
  • A tea bag (remember to add the best-before date)

Anything goes as long as it's not too big and bulky, this is a swap open to all of our group members and that means your partner could live across the world! That being said, if you're feeling generous you can send just whatever you want. Remember to take a look at their profile so you send something they enjoy and have a use for.

I am filing this swap as a Type 3 because everyone is expected to mail a nice letter with real thought and effort put into it, added to the fact that the surprise you send can be handmade.

Some things to remember:

  • Write a letter for your partner in a decorated envelope. Including a gift is not obligatory, but I'm sure it will be very appreciated.
  • Letters can be hand-written or typed and printed, whatever you're more comfortable with as long as the writing is understandable.
  • Send only new items! If sending handmade, be sure the items are neat and in good condition.
  • Flakers will be banned. Anyone who flakes in this swap will be automatically removed from the group.
  • This is an international swap, which means your partner could live in your same country or all the way across the world. Postage fees will vary and delivery times can also be a bit weird - allow two to three weeks for your swap to get to you after the end date if your partner does indeed live very far from you.

That's it everyone, sign up if you're in for some old fashioned penpaling fun and let me know if you have any questions. Don't forget to visit our group forum, as we run lots of games, tags and general discussion for everyone there. Happy swapping!
