I've hosted this swap in other groups and have loved creating and exchanging the Teesha-Moore-style patches. When you collect enough, you can assemble them to make a wall-hanging, journal cover, or many other creative ideas. Who wants to give it a try?!
We will:
Send two patches to one partner. Follow the links to the Teesha Moore tutorials posted at the bottom of the swap description.
Choose fabrics that would be considered brights rather than pastels. They can be bright colors on a black, white, or colored background.
Make our patches between the approximate sizes of 6 to 9 square inches using a square or rectangular shape. Examples would be 3"x2"=6 sq. inches, 6x1, 5x1.5, 4x2...whatever speaks best to your fabric pattern and design whim.
Stuff the patches as shown in the video to make it a lightly stuffed "pillowy" patch.
Use some thread stitching besides the stitching that is required around the edges. This may be hand stitched or machine stitching.
Include another type of embellishment such as beads, sequins, or buttons.
All skill levels may participate as long as you take your time and give it a good effort. This is a very inexact, artsy process!
Sender's choice for color and theme. But please follow the swap description and tutorial.
Please send and rate in a timely manner.
Have fun creating!
If this is successful, perhaps we can make additional swaps to create enough patches to make an item. We can also branch out into other colors and themes.
