How about another Redwork Swap? With Christmas coming perhaps you could make use of a nice Christmas themed piece of Redwork to incorporate into a project. As postage will be minimal this swap is international. Last time we made 6 1/2 inch squares....This will be the default size if you list no preference in the comments below. If a 6 1/2 inch square works for you ...you do not need to make a comment below. If you are open to any particular...just leave a comment below. Do not request a size larger than the default of 6 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches. Your partner will TRY to accommodate your size request. Muslin or quilting solids will work. Keep your embroidery 1/2 inch from the edges...keeping in mind they will need at least a 1/4 inch seam allowance to sew your work of art into the project they make from it. The internet is filled with free patterns and images suitable for use. To transfer the image you can print your desired image in the desired size, (less than 6 inch square in this case) tape the image to a well lit window and secure your fabric centered over top. You will be able to trace the image with a wash out quilting marker or even a simple pencil will do. If you would like to expand you embroidery stitch repertoire ....Go and check out this awesome site. So....create a red work hand embroidery piece on plain cotton cut to 6.5 inches square (or a size of your partner's choosing) for your partner in a pattern of your choosing. IF YOU CANNOT FIND A PATTERN TO FIT THE DIMENSIONS REQUESTED BY YOUR PARTNER...PLEASE DEFAULT TO THE 6 1/2 INCH SQUARE. You should also comment below if your are open to religious or non religious themed patterns. If you have no preference....no comment is required. |
