Description:

Back in 2008, these cuties were featured in the publication Cloth, Paper, Scissors. I kept that magazine and just remembered how cute these are. It's a simple idea---alter a bottle to resemble a snowman.

FUN STUFF: Use any style, color, plastic or glass bottle and alter it to look like a snowman. The original design suggested using paperclay to sculpt the head, but I think a styrofoam ball would work as well as other items. Use your imagination and have fun! You can add a hat, scarf, buttons, etc. to create his own unique personality.

NOT SO FUN STUFF: Do your best work, send on time, rate fairly & promptly.

Lu, wanna do me a favor and copy the article for me? The entire magazine issue is available on digital download for ten dollars, but I'm really only interested in the snowmen - mainly how to achieve the snowy, glittery, vintage effect. You could just give me a few pointers if you aren't comfortable copying anything (copyright infringement etc.)

These are sooooo cute!

So, the snowy effect was from using clear gel medium with mica flakes or chunky glitter. If you don't have gel medium just use mod podge and sprinkle with diamond dust, mica flakes or white glitter while still wet!

Thank you, Lu! I've never worked with clear gel medium but I'm going to get me some of that stuff! I don't think the Podge will give the right effect. Damn, I need to take some classes...
