Calaca

A calaca ( a colloquial Mexican Spanish name for skeleton) is a figure of a skeleton (usually human) commonly used for decoration during the Mexican Day of the Dead festival. They are usually dressed to portray an event or occupation.

FUN STUFF: In this swap you will create a catrina inspired calaca. The size should be no smaller than 3" and you can use whatever medium you desire, but it CANNOT be a paper or flat calaca. It must be three dimensional like a mini figurine. You can alter an existing doll or skelly to resemble a catrina or sculpt your own out of clay. The calaca should be able to stand or sit on its own. You're only limited by your own imagination!
