Inspiration Stones: I've been making these a few years now and their a great conversation starter, and inspiring words to start each day with. This is the second one of these swaps, and I plan to continue them monthly so we will eventually have enough to fill a bowl. The Inspiration Stone you make (one stone to one partner) should be a minimum of about 1 & 1/2 inches or more. Paint the whole stone a nice bright color (I find Acrylic Paints work best & small tipped paint brushes) and then after the paint dries write the word(s) of your inspiring message. You might need a second coat of paint once the first dries, depending on the color, so you can get the best coverage. I find it easiest to use a Sharpie Pen (or something similar) when writing your inspired message. But you can also paint the word(s) on to if you prefer instead. Write your message after the stone has had a good hour or so to completely dry. Color and message is up to the sender but read your partners profile so you don't pick a color they dislike and so you can pick an inspiring message that will be special to them. If you want to add any little flourishes in design around the word(s) you can, but its not a requirement. Spraying a coat of Polyurethane spray, or some kind of other sealant, will keep the color looking rich and keep the message from fading over time. Tuck in a note with the swap. Maybe tell them why you picked the inspired word(s) you put on their inspiration stone. |
