It is January 2015! Happy New Year to All of You! The start of a new year and a new month for those who know and love Tim Holtz’s work has to mean a new year of tags for 2015! Sure enough, when I checked on January 1, he had the January 2015 Tag and instructions already posted. The tag looks like great fun though I don’t have all of the supplies he uses so will be experimenting and improvising quite a bit. We will need to remember from the start that the tag he creates each month is only a starting point for our own interpretations of the tag he creates. However you must create a tag that your partner will recognize as Tim's tag for this month! You will find the instructions for the January 2015 tag here: CLICK HERE FOR 12 Tags of 2015--January. If we have enough interest in these monthly tag swaps, I will make this a series that runs through all twelve months. Remember that you are committing for only one tag at a time and need not make all twelve tags unless you choose to do so. Swap Details: You will make your version of the January 2015 Tim Holtz Tag for ONE partner, using a standard #8 shipping tag (3-1/8” x 6-1/4”). Even though you may need to use slightly different supplies and techniques in creating your version of the tag Tim makes, your tag must be the correct size and must be close enough to his tag that your partner can recognize it as the January 2015 Tag Tim demonstrates on his web site. Sign up for this swap by January 15 and mail you tag by January 31. Since this is pretty much sender’s choice, you can get started right away, giving you lots of time to make a beautiful tag. Please do your best work for these swaps; make them something you'd take pride in if you had a chance to show it to Tim Holtz himself. I have never seen Tim Holtz use a sticker ever, so that means we will not be using any stickers ever in these tag swaps. He does you word strips and tickets, alphabet "stickers," but limit yourself only to these few types of "stickers," not the cheap and childish stickers--those Mr. Holtz would never use, I am certain. If you have any questions, please PM me and I will try to answer them. |
