Description:

Dear Swappers, there is this darling video on Youtube about making these little folded paper thingies called "hexaflexagons" or "kaleidocycles". If you watch the video you may be inspired to make these things, as I was.

Here is a great tutorial.

They remind me of cootie catchers or fortune tellers, but more complicated and lovely. Zentangles combined with hexaflexkaleidos would be incredible. I am in no way a math geek, but I do like puzzles, and these appeal to me greatly. I think it would be awesome to receive one made by someone else, with her aesthetic and skill applied to it.

So for this swap you will learn how to make them, and make your partner one paper hexaflexagon / kaleidocycle. Parameters: use at least three colors to decorate your object, and include at least one line design in a fourth color.

All swappers without poor ratings are welcome. Newbies PM me for a private swap to help you get rated. I will angel. Message me if you have questions. Thanks.

Be good, play safe, go!

Oh Wow! I have never heard of anyone who has heard of these! My daughters and I have made these for years. In fact, I just sent one to swap partner and I just hope she can figure out how to use it! Great idea for a swap. They're a lot of fun.

If we make a dodecrahedrin (12 sides), then we can make a calendar. Internet: Type: 12 sided calendars.

I just watched the Hexaflexagon safety guide (part 3 of the one on YouTube listed in the swap), and laughed so hard I was crying. Very entertaining. I am watching the swap for now.
